Frequently Asked Questions
At Fenix Cargo & Logistics, we know that when it comes to logistics operations, questions always arise. That’s why we have created this section to provide you with quick and precise answers.
What is an international locker and how does it work?
An international locker is a physical address we provide you in the United States. You can use it to send your online purchases. Once we receive your packages at that address, we process them and send them to your destination country.
Are there any costs to open or maintain a locker?
No, opening and maintaining a locker is completely free. However, it is important to send your packages within a specified timeframe to avoid possible storage charges.
What types of products can I receive in my locker?
You can receive personal, household, or commercial items, provided they comply with customs regulations and are not on the list of restricted or prohibited products.
Are there restrictions on package size or value?
Yes. Generally, packages should not exceed 50 kg (110 lbs) in weight, 1.5 meters (59 inches) per side, and a declared value of USD 2,000.
What happens if I forget to include my locker number on a purchase?
If you don't include your locker number, the package may not be automatically associated with your account. In that case, you should contact customer service and provide the tracking number and purchase details to correctly identify and assign the package.
Can I consolidate several packages into a single shipment?
Yes, we offer a consolidation service to group several packages into one, which can help you save on shipping costs.
Can I use my locker to receive packages from different stores?
Yes, you can receive products from any store or supplier in the United States. You just need to make sure to correctly include your locker number in each purchase order.
How long can my packages be stored in the locker without additional cost?
At Fenix Cargo & Logistics, we offer 30 days of free storage. After that time, a small daily storage fee may apply.
How should I pack my products for courier shipping?
We recommend using sturdy boxes, protecting fragile products with cushioning material, and properly sealing them with industrial adhesive tape. You can also request our professional repacking service if you wish.
What payment methods do you accept for shipments?
We accept payments via credit card, debit card, PayPal, bank transfers, and some local payment methods depending on your destination country.
What is the difference between the locker service and the courier service?
The locker service provides you with an address in the U.S. for your purchases, while the courier service handles the transport and delivery of your packages from that address to your destination country.
How long does a courier shipment from the U.S. take?
Delivery time varies depending on the destination and the type of service selected. On average, express shipments take between 2 and 5 business days, while standard shipments can take 7 to 14 business days.
What items are prohibited in courier shipments?
Prohibited items include drugs, weapons, flammable products, live or dead animals, perishable foods, cash, jewelry, and other valuable objects.
What taxes do I have to pay for my shipments?
Generally, shipments with a declared value of less than USD 200 are exempt from taxes. For higher values, tariffs and VAT apply according to the regulations of each country.
Can I track my packages?
Yes, we provide a tracking number so you can monitor the status of your shipments in real-time through our platform.
When should I use international cargo service instead of courier?
International cargo service is ideal for shipments that exceed the weight, size, or value limits established for courier. It is also suitable for commercial shipments or large volumes.
What transport modalities do you offer for international cargo?
We offer air and sea transport, depending on the urgency, type of merchandise, and client preferences.
What requirements must I meet to send international cargo?
You must ensure that the merchandise is free for import in the destination country and comply with all regulations and customs requirements, including the necessary documentation.
Do you offer insurance for international cargo?
Yes, we offer insurance that covers the declared value of the merchandise in case of total loss. The cost of insurance varies according to the insured value.
How can I get a quote for my international cargo shipment?
You can request a quote through our website or by contacting our customer service team, providing details such as the type of merchandise, weight, dimensions, origin, and destination.
What is the difference between consolidated cargo (LCL) and full container load (FCL)?
- LCL (Less than Container Load): You share space in a container with other clients.
- FCL (Full Container Load): You have an exclusive container for your cargo.
The choice depends on the volume, urgency, and costs of your operation.
